1. Who we are
The Chats Me ("The Chats Me", "we") is the controller of the personal data collected through the website thechats.me and the app at app.thechats.me. We operate from Portugal, in the European Union, and comply with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

2. Data we collect
- Account data: name, email, company, role and access credentials.
- Usage data: access logs, IP address, device type and interactions with the platform.
- Conversation content: messages, attachments, contacts and metadata processed across the channels you connect.
- Meta platform data: when you connect WhatsApp Business, Instagram or Facebook Messenger accounts, we process profile identifiers, public name, business phone number and the message content required to deliver the support service.
- Payment data: processed by payment providers; we do not store full card details.
3. How we use data
- Provide, maintain and improve the platform and customer support.
- Route, automate and respond to conversations on connected channels.
- Ensure security, prevent fraud and comply with legal obligations.
- Send service updates and, with consent, marketing communications.
4. Legal bases (GDPR)
We process personal data based on performance of a contract (service delivery), consent (where applicable, e.g. marketing), legitimate interest (security and product improvement) and compliance with legal obligations.
5. Sharing with third parties
We do not sell personal data. We share data only with sub-processors that help us operate the service (cloud hosting, infrastructure, payments and analytics), always under contract and our instructions. Data exchanged with Meta Platforms, Inc. is also governed by Meta's policies when you use WhatsApp, Instagram or Messenger.
6. International transfers
Where transfers outside the European Economic Area occur, we apply appropriate safeguards, such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.
7. Data retention
We retain data for as long as necessary to provide the service and meet legal obligations. When no longer needed, data is deleted or anonymized.
8. Security
We apply appropriate technical and organizational measures, including encryption in transit and at rest, access control and monitoring, to protect your data.
9. Your rights
You may exercise your rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and portability, and withdraw consent at any time. To delete your data, see our Data Deletion Instructions or write to privacy@thechats.me. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority (in Portugal, the CNPD).
10. Meta platforms
Use of Meta integrations is subject to the Meta Platform Terms. We process data obtained through Facebook Login and Meta APIs solely to provide the support features you contracted, and not for purposes incompatible with Meta's policies.

We use cookies that are essential to the website and, with your consent, analytics cookies. You can manage preferences in your browser.
12. Changes
We may update this policy. We will publish the revised version on this page with its update date.
