DropHub Extension — Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy applies specifically to the DropHub browser extension for Google Chrome (the “Extension”). It explains what data the Extension accesses, why, how it is used, and your rights. The Extension is part of the DropHub service operated by The Chats Me.

1. Who we are

The DropHub Extension is provided by The Chats Me ("DropHub", "we"), the data controller. We operate from Portugal, in the European Union, and comply with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

2. Single purpose

The Extension has a single purpose: to help you manage, publish and synchronize your own product listings across the online marketplaces where you sell. All data access described below exists solely to deliver this functionality.

3. Supported marketplaces

The Extension only runs on the marketplace websites where you actively sell, including Vinted (all EU domains), Depop, Wallapop, Milanuncios, eBay, Etsy, Amazon Seller Central and Sellbrite. It does not run on other websites.

4. Data the Extension accesses

  • Marketplace session / authentication cookies: read on the supported marketplace sites so the Extension can act on your behalf, using your existing logged-in session, to read and publish your listings. These cookies are used only to authenticate requests to that same marketplace.
  • Listing and catalog data: the content of your own product listings (title, description, price, photos, categories, stock and status) that you choose to import, publish or synchronize.
  • Page content on supported marketplaces: read via content scripts strictly to detect your listings and account context needed for synchronization.
  • Local settings: your DropHub connection token and preferences, stored locally in the browser to keep the Extension paired with your DropHub account.

The Extension does not collect your browsing history, does not read pages outside the supported marketplaces, and does not access data unrelated to listing management.

5. How we use the data

  • Import, publish, update and remove your listings on the marketplaces you connect.
  • Keep listings, stock and prices synchronized between DropHub and those marketplaces.
  • Show you the status of your listings and sync operations.
  • Maintain the secure connection between the Extension and your DropHub account.

Listing and account data needed to perform a sync is transmitted over an encrypted connection to the DropHub backend (api-connectors.thechats.me) solely to provide these features.

6. What we do NOT do

  • We do not sell your personal data.
  • We do not transfer or use your data for advertising, credit scoring, or any purpose unrelated to the Extension's single purpose.
  • We do not share your marketplace credentials or session cookies with any third party.

7. Permission justifications

  • cookies — authenticate requests to the marketplace you are logged into so we can read and publish your listings on your behalf.
  • scripting / content scripts — read and act on your listing pages on supported marketplaces.
  • storage — store your DropHub connection token and preferences locally.
  • tabs / activeTab — operate on the marketplace tab you are working in.
  • alarms — schedule periodic synchronization tasks.
  • host permissions — limited to the supported marketplace domains and the DropHub API.

8. Sharing with third parties

We share data only with sub-processors that help us operate the service (cloud hosting and infrastructure), always under contract and our instructions. Data you send to a marketplace through the Extension is, of course, also processed by that marketplace under its own policies.

9. Data retention

We retain listing and account data for as long as necessary to provide the synchronization service. Local settings and tokens remain in your browser until you disconnect or remove the Extension. When no longer needed, data is deleted or anonymized.

10. Security

We apply appropriate technical and organizational measures, including encryption in transit, access control and monitoring, to protect your data.

11. Your rights

You may exercise your rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and portability, and withdraw consent at any time. To delete your data, see our Data Deletion Instructions or write to privacy@thechats.me. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority (in Portugal, the CNPD).

12. Changes

We may update this policy. We will publish the revised version on this page with its update date.
